The stackable Cycle Chair features a minimal aesthetic, ergonomic comfort, and competitive price point to similar imported products. Crafted from a single material, the chair’s cost-effectiveness was embedded within each design and manufacturing decision made by Adam Goodrum and the Tait Design Studio. Cycle harnesses Tait’s expertise in metal manufacturing, exploring the formal and functional potential of steel construction, and of technical innovation. ‘Our tube bender (imported from Japan) played a crucial role in us even thinking about developing a product like Cycle, as the freeform frame can only be processed efficiently on an advanced tube forming machine,’ shares Gordon Tait. Designed for commercial projects as well as residential, Cycle is easier to carry, lift, stack, move and transport – whilst the frame is designed to sit firmly with the assistance of custom glides. Cycle has been completely streamlined for aesthetic minimalism and functional efficiency. *Cycle was previously constructed in aluminium, however has evolved with market feedback to full mild steel construction to enhance stability and durability. All Tait pieces are made locally and come with a 10-year warranty. Tait’s original designs are protected under design registration and copyright.
